New Delhi has broken the record for all time high temperate

The temperatures in the national capital region have reached a staggering all time high record breaking 52.3° C.

This is the highest temperature that has ever been recorded in history making it a grim but record breaking event. The previous record was 49.9° C recorded earlier today.

The IMD had previously issued a red alert warning, which was subsequently downgraded to orange alert, advising all residents and commuters to stay indoors and well hydrated, but such unprecedented temperatures could well be an acute indication of the larger problem of climate change and greenhouse gas emissions.
